1AMARQUE—Karen Elizabeth Castaneda, 48, of La Marque passed away Saturday, October 26,1996, in Houston, Texas.

Mrs. Castaneda was born October 28, 1947, in Galveston, Texas. She was a resident of La Marque for 25 years, formerly of Galveston.

She was the owner of Karen's Day Care Center in La Marque for 12 years. Mrs. Castaneda was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church, Texas City, former drill team director,
La Marque Tiger Football Tigerettes and a member of the
Ladies Auxiliary Mainland Elk Lodge.

Visitation wiH be 5 p.m.. Monday, October 28, 1996, with a
Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Monday in the Chapel of the James
Crowder Funeral Home, La Marque. Funeral services wffl be 10
a.m. Tuesday at the Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Wedergren
officiating. Burial to follow service at the Grace Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock.

Mrs. Castaneda is survived by her husband John Castaneda of
La Marque, mother and fatherin- law Fred and Amelia Castaneda of Texas City, two daughters Aimee Clifton and Jennifer Castaneda of La Marque, sons and daughter-in-law Ricky Barger of San Marcus, John Castaneda, Jr. and wife Meredith of West Palm Beach, Florida; two brothers and sisters-in-law Lawrence A. and Susan Elfstrom, Jr., of Galveston, Ronnie and Susan Elfstrom of Texas City, five grandchildren, Christopher Clifton, Jessica Clifton, Michael Clifton, Matthew Martinez, Ethan John Castaneda and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Sorrentino, Vincent Sorrentino, Jr., Paul Flick, Fred Castaneda, Arthur Castaneda and Ronnie
Ellstrom.

Mrs. Castaneda was preceded in death oy Her mother and
fetter, Lawrence and Nina Elfstrom, sister Kathy Sorrentino
and brother Daniel W Ellstrom
