Mr. Sinclair , a native of Hawesville, Ky., was a World War II Navy veteran. He retired as a teacher of the industrial arts and math at Central High School and Garinger High School and was the head of the Industrial Arts department at Garinger High School. At his church, he served as school secretary until his
death.
He was former president of Charlotte Classroom Teachers Association,
president of the local unit of the N.C. Education Association and president of the N.C. Industrial Arts Association. He was a member of the National
Education Association and American Industrial Arts Association.
He an organizer of Char-Meck Teachers Credit Union, and served as treasurer and board member. He was also influential in the consolidation of three
classroom teachers associations. While the old coliseum was in use, he was the only official timekeeper for all basketball games.
Survivors are wife, Frances; daughter, Mrs. Lynn Todd; mother, Mrs. Tula
Sinclair of Hawesville; sisters, Mrs. Catherine Askins of Hardinsburg, Ky.,
Mrs. Nancy Meserve of Hawesville; two grandchildren.
