Roger Frederick Mayer Mr. Mayer , age 49, of Charlotte, died Friday, August 10, 2007 at Presbyterian Hospital. Born August 8, 1958 in Charlotte, he was a son of the late William Frederick Mayer and Florence Deal Mayer . He graduated from Garinger High School in 1976. Mr. Mayer was a self-employed real estate investor. He enjoyed his weekly card games with friends. The joys of his life were his son and nephews. Mr. Mayer had a great personality and never met a stranger. He was much loved and will be missed by everyone who knew him. The service to celebrate the life of Roger Frederick Mayer will be held 11:00 AM Monday, August 13, 2007 at McEwen Funeral Service - Sharon Memorial Park. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Survivors include his nine-year-old son, Austin Pigg of Charlotte; two brothers, Max Mayer and his wife, Laura, of Merrill's Inlet, SC and Brent Mayer and his wife, Sandra, of Charlotte; two nephews, Skylar Mayer and Marshall Mayer , both of Charlotte; and dog, Cleo. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mayer was preceded in death by a brother, Louis Mayer . Memorials may be made to the Humane Society, 2700 Toomey Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28203.
