Mr. David W. Phillips , 43, of Charlotte died Thursday, January 11, 2001 .

Born April 17, 1958, in Charlotte, son of Thomas Milton Phillips , Sr. and Mary Jane Nisbet Phillips of Charlotte, he was a 1976 graduate of Garinger High School.

Mr. Phillips took courses in graphic arts at Central Piedmont Community College and became President of Milt Phillips & Associates Graphic Arts Equipment & Supplies.

He was well known throughout the industry for his knowledge of graphic arts and color theory. of three years Mr. Phillips was a sales rep for the X-Rite Company.

A member of Plaza Presbyterian Church, he liked to golf, fish and hunt.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Schultz Phillips ; his twin daughters, Lauren and Lesley; and son, Matthew. Also surviving are his two brothers, Thomas Milton Phillips , Jr. of Clemmons, NC and Walter F. Phillips and his wife, Laura, of Charlotte.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 15, at Plaza Presbyterian Church, with the Reverends Tom Tate and Pinky Bender officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.

The family requests memorials to the National Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 5950 Fairview Road, Suite 250, Charlotte, NC 28210; the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 9844C Southern Pines Boulevard, Charlotte, NC 28273; the National Parkinson's Foundation, 1501 NW 9th Avenue, Miami, FL 33136; or to Plaza Presbyterian Church, 2304 The Plaza, Charlotte, NC 28205.
