Ruby P. Cagle, 90
Ruby Tulin Pressley Cagle, 90, of Hendersonville went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 8, 2006, in her home after an extended illness.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, the wife of the late Zoro McKinley Cagle. She was also preceded in death by three children, Norma Jean, Bill and Otis Cagle; a grandson, Harold Odell Cagle Jr.; and a son-in-law, Imzey Varney. She was a faithful and devoted member of Moore's Grove United Methodist Church for more than 70 years and was the oldest member of that congregation. Her talents as a storyteller entertained generations of her family, creating memories that will endure for years to come.
She is survived by her three children, Lillie Varney, Harold Cagle Sr. and his wife, Addlee, and Susan Cantrell and her husband, Roger; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was a beautiful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, who never met a stranger.
A funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Moore's Grove United Methodist Church. The Rev. Glenn Camp will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at the church, and at other times will be at the home. Memorials may be made to Moore's Grove United Methodist Church, P.O.
