Helen Maria Harkey Norwood Mrs. Norwood , 86, of 3700 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, died April 4, 2008 at Liberty Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland, Rev. Neil Crowell officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Charlotte. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Born on November 16, 1921 in Mecklenburg County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Tom and Eula Broom Harkey. She retired from Duke Power where she was a secretary. Survivors are her daughter, Jane Roberts of Midland, NC; sister, Lillie Bell Ragan of Gastonia, NC; grandsons, Gene Roberts of Concord, NC, and John Roberts II of Alabama; and a niece, Pat Pursley of Supply, NC.
