Gloe - Aug. 9 - Funeral services for Pollard Pearson, 68 years old, Arizona pioneer and one of the original Arizona territorial rangers, will be held here at 5 p.m. Friday.The body will like in state n the Jones Funeral Home on West Mesquite street from 2 to 5 p.m . Burial will be in the family plot in the Globe CemeteryBorn in TexasMr. Pearson, who died in his home at Florence Monday, was born in Texas December 19, 1870, and came to Arizona as a cowboy with one of the great cattle drives of pioneer days.Since 1885 he had made Arizona his home, with the exception of brief periods spent in New Mexico and Texas. During one of these periods he served as a Texas Ranger.Served as GuardFor the past 10 years he had resided in Florence, devoting his time to supervising his farm property just north of here and also serving for sometime as a guard at the state prison.He and Mrs. Pearson were married in Globe 16 years ago this month.In addition to his wife, he is survived by a stepdaughter, Mrs. Floyd Ellington of of Florence, and a stepson, Wood Claypool.
