Barber was a member of First United Methodist Church of Sheffield, where she had been a member of the United Methodist Women, a circle leader, a communion steward and a Sunday school teacher.Mrs. Barber was born in Aucilla, Fla. She grew up in Chattanooga, Tenn., but was a resident of Sheffield, Ala., for most of her life. She was retired secretary and bookkeeper for Sheffield schools and served at Sheffield High School and the Sheffield Board office for 30 years through 1973.She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Everette Barber Sr.; her son, Leonard Everette "Ebby"Barber Jr.; her parents, Arthur J. and Lillian Smith Poston; two sisters, Margaret Aiken and Miriam Poston; and two brothers, Arthur Poston and George Poston.
