Jim is the eldest of five children (4 males, 1 female). He is a pharmacist by profession.

Mr. James Paul Beckman - A native of Sheffield, Alabama and resident of Mobile died on Monday, May 15, 2006 at a local hospital.

Mr. Beckman was a member of Our Savior Catholic Church. He was a graduate of Samford University, Birmingham, AL, Class of 1974 and received his Degree in Pharmacy. He was a member of the American Pharmaceutical Association, the Alabama Pharmaceutical Association and the Mobile Pharmaceutical Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Paul Henry Beckman and Elizabeth Rohling Beckman. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Mrs. Linda Kay Johnson Beckman of Mobile; a sister, Mrs. Juliana Beckman Powell and husband Elmo of Center Star, AL; brothers, Michael Joseph Beckman and wife Miriam of Wintston-Salem, NC, Dr. Robert Fred Beckman and wife Lynn of St. Louis, MO, and John Bernard Beckman and wife Alston of Easley, SC; his aunts, Sr. Mary Vincent Beckman, OSB of Cullman, AL, Mrs. Margaret Beckman Geise of Clark, SD, and Mrs. Magdalena Rohling of Lawrenceburg, TN; nieces and nephews Christopher, Andrew, Daniel, Jordan and Caroline Beckman, and Shannon, Kelsey, Michael and Rachel Johnson; and other relatives.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, May 19, 2006, from Our Savior Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 10-11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Shoals Catholic Church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Tuscumbia, AL.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Ozanam Pharmacy at Catholic Social Services, Mobile, or the American Heart Association.
