Funeral services for Curtis Washington Carr, 67, district manager for Federal Land Bank, were held on Monday, May 27th, from Williams and Lord Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood. Officiating at the services was the Reverend P. D. Bragg, Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Lexington, assisted by the Reverend J. H. Kyzer.

Interment was in the Ripley Cemetery in Ripley, Mississippi with Southern Funeral Home of Lexington, in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Carr died Saturday at 5:15 p. m. in the Greenwood Leflore Hospital in Greenwood where he had been hospitalized since May 13th, when he suffered a stroke. He was born in Pineville, Miss on November 13, 1896.

He had been a resident of Lexington for 21 years prior to moving to Greenwood 1954. He had served with Federal Land Bank in this area for 33 years. He was a member of the Rotary Club, a Mason, a member of the Travelers Club and of the American Legion. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Greenwood.

He is survived by his widow, Mary Belle Anderson Carr and two sons, John Curtis and Barnes Anderson, all of Greenwood.

Pallbearers were Ralph Redditt, A. P. Carroll, W. W. Hester, John Kearney, C. G. Steel, and George Albritton. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Board of Directors of the Federal Land Bank.
