Mrs. Blankenship was born on August 24, 1918, in Nacogdoches, Texas to the late Elton and Bennie Cade. She passed away on February 21, 2012, in Nacogdoches.
Novis grew up in Nacogdoches County. She was a farmer by trade. Mrs. Blankenship loved to quilt, walk to the store and visit and call all her friends on the phone. When she had the chance she liked to play 42. She was a member of Chireno Baptist for many years as well as Attoyac Baptist Church in Black Jack, Texas and loved attending church services and listening to Gospel music on the radio.
Novis is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Langston and Jan Blankenship and Winston Blankenship; one sister, Billie Fae Cade Anderson of Nacogdoches; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; also nieces, Miriam Cade Nichol of Beaumont, TX, Patricia Cade Nolan of Bedford, TX, and Terri Cade Verde of Beaumont, TX; nephew, Ben Cade Anderson of Houston.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elton and Bennie Cade and her husband, George Blankenship as well as a brother, George E. Cade, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Randy Clary, Kenneth Blankenship, Hank Curbow, David Blankenship, Mike Hudson and Charro Madden.
