Lois never married. She was a life long member of the Salvation Army.

KEWANEE, IL - Lois I. Emerson, 67, of Kewanee, passed away at 10:30 PM, Thursday, January 31, 2013 at her home.

She was born July 24, 1945 in North Platte, NE, the daughter of Charles and Wealtha (Blakeman) Emerson.

Survivors include her siblings, Willard (Marie) Emerson of Tucson, AZ, Cynthia (Von) DeMilt of North Platte, NE, Delbert (Jan) Emerson of Lincoln, NE, LeRoy Emerson of Jonestown, PA and Wynona "Nonie" Emerson of North Platte, NE and many nieces and nephews including Charlotte Korn and Deb Scott and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Ray Doherty, a brother, Clifford and a sister, Delores.

Lois had worked for DCFS and as an officer at the Salvation Army for several years and had also been co-owner and operator of Henry's restaurant for 19 years. She enjoyed reading, doing crafts, playing with her dog, Buddy and her many friendships.

Burial will be in Osceola Cemetery.
