Dwight was born on 4 August 1889. He was the son of August and Bertha Hennie. In 1912 he married Esther Polcar and together they had a son named Robert. After divorcing in 1923, he remarried Dorothy Young in 1924 and their family quickly grew to 5--the 2 adults and 3 children--two of which are buried in unmarked graves beside Dwight and Dorothys headstones.

Dwight served on the Cleveland Fire Department from 1911 to 1945 rising to the status of Fire Warden in 1933. In 1945 he received a job offer from the Kessler Air Field in MS as the Inspector In Charge of the fire fighting group. He accepted the position and he and his family resided there for many years before eventually moving back to Ohio.

He passed away on March 19, 1954.
