Philanthropist. Bocabella devised the construction of the Sagrada Familia. He was inspired to build the church after a visit to the Vatican in 1872, when he saw basilica at Loreto. The task of constructing the church was originally entrusted to Francisco de Paula del Villar y Lozano, and construction started in 1882. Villar retired after many disagreements with the construction board, so the task went to Antoni Gaudi in 1883. Gaudi died in 1926, before the church was completed. To this day, the Sagrada Familia is under construction, with final completion to be scheduled in 2026.
