Corporal Finn Killed In Action Over France

Rogers, Ark., July 27 - (Special) Cpl. James Munce Finn, 25, son of Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Finn, west of Rogers, was killed in action over France June 10, the War Department advised his parents Wednesday. Corporal Finn was with the 357th infantry 90th division. He left for England April 27, 1944, Corporal Finn entered the army March 31, 1942, and took his first training at Camp Barkeley, Texas. He was transferred to California and to New York. His last letters to his parents, and to his fiancee, Miss Phyllis Graham, teacher at Lowell, were dated June 3. Corporal Finn was born and reared near Lowell. Rogers, May 6 - (Special) - The body of Cpl. James H. "Munce" Finn, killed June 6, 1944, on D-Day at the Normandy Beach head, will arrive here Saturday. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Callison Chapel. The Rev. Everett Blanal of Rogers, and the Rev. Horace Knox of La Roe, will conduct the church service. A full military service will be held at the Rogers cemetery under direction of the Rogers Veterans Memorial Association. Corporal Finn was born October 31, 1918 at La Rue, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Drewry Finn. He entered service October 31, 1942. He was sent overseas early in 1944. He was a member of 357 Infantry Service Company of the 90 Division. Surviving are his parents; three brothers, Mitchell and Perry of Rogers and Hugh of Dothan, Ala.; three sisters, Mrs. Stella Dahl of Rogers, Mrs. Flora Moe of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Eula Kendall of Saint Louis, Mo.
