Joseph E. "Joe" Forgey, age 90, of Wheaton, Missouri, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2011, in his home.

He was born June 13, 1921, in Seligman, Missouri, the son of Elige and Winnie Gay (Bowman) Forgey. On July 15, 1946, in Cassville, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Glenda Ray Pitts, who preceded him in death on January 10, 1995. Also preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Morris.

Surviving are two daughters, Shirley Jo Davis of Garfield, Arkansas and Zelma Lee Nickell of Wheaton, Missouri; two sons, Jack Forgey and his wife, Connie of Cassville, Missouri and Jerry Forgey and his wife, Rhonda of Monett, Missouri; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Joe was a lifelong resident of Barry County. During World War II he served in the United States Army, from July 18, 1942 until December 7, 1945. Throughout his life he worked for McCullah Construction and Journagan Construction as a bulldozer operator and for M.F.A. at the fertilizer plant in Wheaton and was a lifelong cattle farmer. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Services for Joe E. Forgey, age 90, of Exeter will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 14, 2011, in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Pastor Richard Buck will conduct the services. Graveside services with military honors will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday in Ruddick Cemetery, Garfield, Arkansas.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton.

Contributions may be made to Fair Haven Children's Home in memory of Joe.
