Kenneth Lavern Byer, 73, of Pea Ridge, died Monday, July 29, 1996 at Concordia Health Care Center.
He was born July 19, 1923, at Rockford, Ohio, to William Harold Byer and Freida Ester Becker Byer.
He graduated from Rockford High School. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army where his specialty was an AAF Radio Student and a US Rifle Marksman. He married Electa Jane Harger, August 13, 1946, and moved to Pea Ridge in 1949 to make his home. He was a farmer and a member of the Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, James David Byer age 16 and John William Byer an infant.
Survivors are his wife, Jane Byer of Pea Ridge; four daughters, Jane Louise Clark, Margaret Marie Keene and Martha Reeves all of Pea Ridge, and Mary Kathryn Ellis of Washburn; one brother, Jackie Byer of Coldwater, Ohio; One sister, Rosemary Piper of Celina, Ohio; Twelve grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Cremation arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge. Memorial service is set for 5 P.M. Thursday Aug. 1, 1996 at Mt Vernon Presbyterian Church in Pea Ridge with Rev. Mady Fraser officiating.
Burial of ashes will be in the Pea Ridge Cemetery.
