Paul was born in Globe and lived there all of his life. He talked his best friend Robert Avila into enlisting with him in the Marines 29 August 1966
at the Phoenix Recruiting Office.
Paul arrived in Vietnam 10 March 1968 where he was assigned to Mike Company, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. Paul died as a result of fragmentation wounds to the body from hostile mortar fire, at Hill 512 north of Hwy QL-9, and 5 kilometers west south-
west of Ca Lu Airfield.
Paul was single and served his country for 1 year, 9 months and 2 days and was KIA #28,913.
He had been in Vietnam for 2 months and 21 days.
Paul was 22 years,8 months and 18 days old.
Survived by his mother, Josephine Sanchez of PO Box 1655, Globe, AZ and three brothers: Albert and Pat Sanchez of Globe and John Sanchez of Miami and four halfbrothers; Danny, Richard,
Jospeh and Ramon Ramos of Globe. His three sisters; Hortensia Stidman of Globe and Margie Rocha, Eleanor Lopez of Miami and Mary Lou Sanchez of 83 Red Springs, Miami and two half-sisters; Isabel and Sally Ramos of Globe.
