After graduating from Clifton High School, she considered becoming a nun/nurse, but then her high school sweetheart, Harold Dean Fowler asked her to marry. They married ('63) and had two children. After his death (1969), she needed to provide for her children, so she started school. She completed an AA degree (EAC '73), and then completed a BA in Elementary Education (ASU '75), and a MA in Special Education (ASU '78). Pat started teaching 6th grade children with disabilities in Ft. Thomas. After, she taught special needs students in Morenci. She also taught GED classes and completed additional coursework. She retired after teaching 24 years, continued taking courses in art and religion, and completed her Doctoral degree in Comparative Religion ('02).
She was a devoted mom, daughter and friend. Pat enjoyed her family, kids (students), cats, playing slots, riding in the rain, telling jokes, and reading. Pat loved to learn and laugh. She consistently shared something she had discovered and always wanted to hear a good joke. She was smart, optimistic, faithful, and caring.
Her son Harold Damian Fowler, daughter Vanessa Fowler Sandoval, son-in-law Raul Sandoval, granddaughters Lita Fowler, Alyssandra and Lorena Sandoval, and brother Roger Romero, survive Pat.
After the Saturday April 5th, 10:00 am mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Clifton AZ, Pat's ashes will be buried next to her beloved Harold, Sacred Heart Cemetery, Morenci, AZ.
