Edward Blanco, 90

Edward Blanco, age 90, of Globe passed Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, at Tucson Medical Center Hospice Unit in Tucson. He was born in Miami, on March 25, 1918, to Encarnacion and Julio Blanco. Edward proudly served in the United States Army during World War II, earning the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.
He worked at the Globe Post Office for 28 years and owned and operated Carm-Eds. He liked fishing, dancing, playing the harmonica and enjoyed music. He was a very hard worker, a great mason, carpenter, builder and handy man. He loved dogs and enjoyed his pets. Edward was greatly loved and will be missed by his family and friends.
Edward Blanco leaves behind in loving memory, his daughter, Kelley Ireland of Tucson; son, Edward J. Blanco and his wife Anne-Marie of Phoenix; Brother, Tony Blanco of Globe; sisters, Laura Wantland and Carmen Slough of Globe.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 11 a.m. at the Miles Funeral Services Globe Chapel 237 S. Sutherland Street, in Globe
Inurnment with Military Honors will follow at the Globe Cemetery, on Hackney Avenue, in Globe Funeral arrangements for Edward Blanco were entrusted to Miles Funeral Services Globe.
