Dr. James McCune, the son of Robert McCune and Elizabeth Kyle, was born 18th Sept 1819 Shippensburg, Middle Ward, Cumberland, Pennsylvania. (James is mentioned on my memorial for his father, Robert)
He married Jane Damsel, 7th June, 1849 in Richland Ohio. Their first child, died as an infant, (mem# 172637243)
Their son, Cyrus, who never married, was born Oct 1851, Little,Washington, Richland, OH. He died 18 Jun 1926, Seattle, King, Washington. ( I haven't had any luck finding a grave for him, just a death notice with his parents names) Jane died when Cyrus was 4 months old.
James married Martha Jane Black, 21 Nov 1854 in Crawford, OH. Their first son died at birth in 1855. Their son, James Robert (mem# 103537423) was born in 1861 and died in 1862. (photo of infants' graves on memorial)
James married Sarah Cory, 3 Dec 1872 in Morrow, OH. They had the following children:
- Cora Alice, 1873 - 1948. m John Philip Bristley (6 children)
- John Cory McCune, 1875 - 1928 m. Hattie Lawrence. (no children)

-Jemima Kyle McCune, b 1877 - 1949, m James B. Sugden (no children) Jemima Kyle was a name passed down from Jemima Patterson, Jemima Kyle's mother, who married Matthew Kyle.
My cousin spent 10 years doing research on our McCune family. (My mom's maiden name) We aren't related to any other McCune family (YDNA study). I feel it's important to get the children attached to the proper parents, particularly those who never had children, like Jemima Kyle McCune and her brother John Cory McCune.
