GRIFFEY, Martha, age 89, of Dayton, born April 11, 1922 in Harlan, KY, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2012 at Hospice of Dayton. Preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Griffey; son, Jerry W. Gambrel; grandson, Michael Gambrell; parents, Lige and Sophia Morgan; brothers, Henry, Robert, and Charles Morgan, and sister, Polly Burkhart. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Larry, Carl (Dorothy), George (Barbara) Gambrell, all of Dayton; brother, Lige (Ruth) Morgan, of Florida; sisters, Hettie, Mae, and Myrtle, all of Dayton; brother-in-law, Terry Hoskins; 8 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Monday, January 30, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at the funeral home, with Rande Greene officiating. Burial will follow at Beaver Cemetery.
