Her funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City with the Rev Wayne Shelksohn and Rev. Dan Hill officiating. Burial will be in Drummer Township Cemetery, Gibson city. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Provena Hospice Program, the Gibson Area Hospital or the American Lutheran Church.
She was born August 14, 1932 at Decatur, a daughter of Reed R. and Claudia M. (Shunk) Votaw. She married Robert C. Apperson on August 15, 1953 at Osman. He survives. Other survivors include a son, Robert Dean (Carla) Apperson of Bement; two daughters, Cathy (Howard Sr.) Monical and Tammy (Charles) Taylor both of Gibson City; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and four sisters.
Mrs. Apperson attended American Lutheran Church in Gibson city. She had a great love for bowling, as was evident in her coaching of the youth bowling league, her induction into the Women's Bowling Hall of Fame in Gibson city and her participation in many National Bowling Tournments. She also enjoyed camping and reading.
