Lucile T. Skovly was born December 14, 1918, on a farm in Brule County, SD, West Point Township, to Henry and Marie Schwiesow. She received her education at the Schwiesow School in West Point Township.
She married Edwin Skovly on January 4, 1941, in Rock Rapids Iowa. They lived in Watertown, SD for 23 years, where she worked at Herberger's Department Store. They moved to Sioux Falls, SD on March 1, 1964, and worked at J.C. Penney and First National Bank. Her husband died December 3, 1979, after 39 years of marriage. Lucile was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and Lydia Dorcas Circle.
She is survived by two sons, Ronald Skovly of Fernley, NV and Gary Skovly of Long Beach, CA; three grandsons, Matthew, Brent and Lendal Skovly; and granddaughter, Tina Chapman.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and five sisters.
Services will be held 10:00am Friday at St. John American Lutheran Church with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Visitation begins noon Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, 507 S. Main Avenue.
