Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls, SD with burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sioux Falls. The family will be present to greet friends beginning at 11:30 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Ramona “Ree” Gail Jewell, daughter of Claude “Red” and Myrtle (Bartlett) Jewell was born February 15, 1935 in Sioux Falls, SD. She was raised and received her education in Sioux Falls and graduated from Washington High School in 1953.
On January 21, 1956, Ree was united in marriage with Duane John Reuland in Sioux Falls, SD. They were blessed with the birth of four daughters. The couple made their home in Wagner, SD in 1967. In 1970, Ree began her career with the United States Postal Service working as a window clerk (and served twice as Acting Postmaster) until her retirement in 1992. The couple then moved back to Sioux Falls, in 1995.
Ree was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Sioux Falls, and St. John’s Catholic Church in Wagner, SD; where she was active in numerous committees, The VFW Auxiliary, and The Moose Legion Auxiliary.
Ree enjoyed golfing; also watching golf and baseball on the television. Her greatest enjoyment came from her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
Grateful for having shared her life are her four daughters, Joan Bohannon of Omaha, NE, Rhonda (Gordy) Jensen of Sioux Falls, Monica Reuland of Sioux Falls, Kimberly Podraza of Omaha, NE; eight grandchildren; Tanya Roeder of Omaha, NE, Benjamin Hakenson and his wife, Mindy of Jacksonville, FL, Troy Jensen of Sioux Falls, SD, Brian Jensen of Sioux Falls, SD, Scott Jensen of Sioux Falls, SD, Tanner Reuland of Sioux Falls, SD, Adam Podraza of Omaha, NE, and Christopher Podraza of Omaha, NE; 6 great-grandchildren, Morgan, Miles, Graham, Alexsis, Brianna and Chelsie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude “Red” & Myrtle Jewell; husband, Duane Reuland on March 15, 2009; and two sisters, Jacqueline “Jackie” Bakke and Janice Petit.
