ROCK HILL -- Mr. Earl Clinton Cowan, 69, of 4426 Windsong Lane, died Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, at Carolinas Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, at Eastview Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Martin and Dr. Larry Harrison officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
A native of Harrisville, W.Va., Mr. Cowan was the son of the late Cleo Dexter Cowan and Roslie Harriet Owens Cowan. He retired from BB&T Bank in 1994 after 17 years of service, and was most recently employed by Carter Lumber Company in Rock Hill. Mr. Cowan was a veteran of United States Marine Corp and the United States Army. He was a member of Eastview Baptist Church, where he was the current Discipleship Training Director and Deacon.
Mr. Cowan is survived by his wife, Jane Cowan of the home; his sons, Ron Cowan and his wife, Tammy, of Angier, N.C., and Anthony Cowan and his wife, Carrie, of Clayton, N.C.; his daughters, Stephanie Cowan of Knightdale, N.C., and Janine Sullivan and her husband, Alvin, of Smithfield, N.C.; and two stepdaughters, Elisa Coker and her husband, Greg, of Pinehurst, N.C., and Christie Clark and her husband, Derek, of Rock Hill; his brother, Dexter Cowan of Coca, Fla.; three sisters, Sharon Shriner of Parkersburg, W.Va., Shelby Eldreth of Canton, Ohio and Penny Todd of Waverly, W.Va.; and 12 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 5, 2008, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill.
