Phebe Ann, daughter of John and Catherine Maring, was born August 26th, 1838 in Glenoa County, Ohio, and died April 12, 1929, at her home in Clark County, Ill, aged 90 years, 7 months and 17 days.

She was united in marriage to W. Elliott, October 4, 1857. To this union was born 5 children, three preceeding her in death. Nancy in infancy, Cynthia McDaniel and Willie. Surviving are Mrs. Ida Stewart, of Algona, Washington, J. W. Elliott, of Martinsville, Ill., and one sister, Molancey Barker, of York, Ill. 14 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and many neighbors and friends to mourn her departure.

She came to this community in 1852 and has been a permanent resident to this date.

She professed faith in Christ and united with the Olive Branch Baptist church about 60 years ago and has lived as a consistent christian, always rejoicing in the hope of the glory of the eternal joys ever present in her radiant life.

At her request, no funeral sermon or flowers were used. Short services were conducted by Henry Rockwell at the Wesley Chapel church. She was laid to rest in the cemetery nearby.
