Local Man Fatally Injured at Wrightstown

Guiseppe Schavio, of this City, Loses Life While Working on Coal Car at Dix on Tuesday Afternoon.

Guiseppe Schavio, aged 60 years an Italian laborer of this city, working on a train at Wrightstown was fatally injured on Tuesday afternoon shortly after the noon hours when he was caught between two coal cars and severely crushed. He was rushed to Mount Holly hospital where he died a few hours after admission. The body of the unfortunate man was brought to the city by undertaker Henry Wimberg yesterday. The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock from his late residence on Cincinnati Avenue, opposite City Hall. Mass will be held at the St. Nicholas Church, after which interment will be made at the local cemetery. The Egg Harbor City Band has been engaged and will furnish music.

******************************************

The location of his "late residence" is 346 Cincinnati Avenue.

The burial permit on file at the EHC Clerk's Office with the above name is the same grave location as Joseph Schiavo.

Name spelling in EHC is notorious for hearing foreign names with a German ear. The 1920 US Census was enumerated by Lorenz Krein and his spelling of the family name is SCHIARO for Mary, Ottillio, and Agnes. The burial permit was filled out by Henry Wimberg, written by Christine Lehneis. The only document I haven't seen is the death certificate which would probably in Mount Holly. I have a call into the Wimberg Funeral home, hoping they have a copy in their records.

The search to verify that these two names are the same person was started by Debbie Dellanoce while searching for her great grand-parents.

I have already deleted the "duplicate" from the cemetery.
