She was born in Van Wert, Ohio, on May 12, 1928, to Francis and Loris (Lucas) Parsons. She was employed at Crottys for 17 years, County Park for 10 years and area restaurants. Maxine liked to play the Dr. Mario video, watch the game show networks and read Louis L'Amour western novels.
On August 27, 1946, she married Edgar William Bethel and he preceded her in death in 1978.
She is survived by a daughter, Jayne Bethel of Quincy; four sons, Edgar William (Hiedi) Bethel, Jr. of Quincy, Timmy (Mary) Bethel of Edwardsburg, Gregory A. (Thersea) Bethel of Suffolk, Virginia, and Richard D. (Tammy) Bethel of Tekonsha; three sisters, Clara Youstey of Ohio, Thelma Moon of Wapakoneta and Lois Pease of Van Wert; four brothers, Marion Parsons of Toledo, Ohio, Pete Parsons of California, Francis Parsons, Jr. of California, and Ronald Parsons of Van Wert; 16 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and three brothers.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lakeview Cemetery, Quincy.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the family, c/o George White Funeral Home, 111 E. Chicago St., Quincy, MI 49082.
