ARCANUM - Lester A. Baker, age 88, of Arcanum, passed away Sept. 18, 2014, at State of the Heart Hospice Care Center, Greenville.

He was born Nov. 23, 1925, in Darke County, Ohio, to his parents Ambert S. and Mary M. (McWilliams) Baker.

On Nov. 5, 1949, Lester married Grace E. Garber.

On March 1950, he was baptized into the Old German Baptist Brethren Fellowship.

He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife, Grace (Garber) Baker; children and their spouses Dianne and Allan Burns, Debra and Gerald Crist, Darla Lonell and Steve Rader, Shendyl and Kendra Baker, Wendyl and Ellen Baker; daughter-in-law Brenda Baker-Mattox; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sons Doug Baker and Daryl Baker; grandson Scott Burns; sister Mildred Boone.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at the Old German Baptist Brethren Church, Painter Creek District, 2996 Schnorf-Jones Road, Arcanum, Ohio 45304, with interment following in Abbottsville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. today, at Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington.
