Vernon McConnell Kizer, 84, of Elloree, SC, passed away October 3, 2007, at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg, SC. He was the widower of the late Annie K. Mizell Kizer.

Mr. Kizer was born February 13, 1923, in Dorchester County, SC, a son of the late Olin F. Kizer and Julia Ruebella Dufford Kizer. He was the owner and operator of Kizer's Garage and a farmer. He was a member of the Pine Grove Lutheran Church, a Sunday School teacher and a former member of the church council. He was a member of the Pine Grove Masonic Lodge #125, he served in the US Air Force.

Survivors include his son, Vernon William and Debi Kizer of Elloree, SC; grandchildren, Phillip W. and Haley Kizer, Sr. of Cameron, SC, and Rebekkah and John Francis "Jeb" Brailsford, III of Orangeburg, SC; two great-grandchildren, Phillip William (Will) Kizer, Jr. and Elizabeth Allen Brailsford; three sisters, Julia Hovis and Peggy Childs, both of Orangeburg, SC, and Grace Hutson of Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews.
