Mr. Cahalan was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and worked as a construction engineer for Brown and Root in Houston, Texas retiring after 26 years. He was a member of St. Cyril of Alexandria Catholic Church in Houston.
Survivors include his wife, Doreen Cahalan; one son, James Cahalan, of the Houston, Texas area; two daughters, Sheila Ibison and Catherine Cahalan, both of the Houston area; his mother, Mrs. Mary Cahalann of Pierce City; one sister, Agnes Kahre of Pierce City two brothers, James Cahalan and Vince Cahalan, both of Pierce City; and four grandchildren.
He was preced in death by his father, James Cahalan.
Burial was in Forest Part Westheimer Cemetery in Houston.
Memorial may be made to the American Lung Association.
