Helen “Irene” Bernhardt, 76, of Longmont died Friday, March 14, at Longmont United Hospital.
She was born May 29, 1920, in Evans to Conrad and Annie (Harding) Hopp.
On Dec. 2, 1938, she married Harry Bernhardt in Brighton. The couple moved to Longmont from Loveland in 1952.
A homemaker, Mrs. Bernhardt worked for Gould Manufacturing for 17 years, from 1952-68. She enjoyed sewing, needlework and crocheting, as well as canning, gardening, raising flowers, dancing and swimming. She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Longmont.
Survivors are her husband, Harry, of Longmont; a daughter, Rosalie Young, also of Longmont; three sons, Harry Jr. of Berthoud, Norman of Erie and Harvey of Chandler, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Four sisters and five brothers are deceased.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Longmont. Interment will be in Foothills Gardens of Memory, Longmont.
Friends may visit from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday and 3-8 p.m. Monday at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, Longmont.
Contributions may be made to the church in care of the funeral chapel.
