DIED

At her residence, in the city of Richmond, on Sunday, the 27th of December 1850, at half past 11 o'clock, A. M., Mrs. LOUISA R. S. TRIPLETT, relict of the late John R. Triplett, Esq., in the 57th year of her age.

Mrs. Triplett was a native of Fredericksburg, and daughter of Wm. S. Stone, Esq., long favorably known as one of our most intelligent and respectable merchants. For many years she had been afflicted with disease of the lungs, but during the past few months her health had so far improved as to lead to a reasonable hope she would be spared many years to enjoy the society of her children and other relatives which constituted her chief happiness on earth. How sadly disappointed have been all their hopes! The exposure incident to an attendance on Divine worship on Christmas day, and a visit to the family of a sick friend, lit up anew the flames of the fatal malady which had been only smothered, and not as was fondly imagined, entirely extinguished, that hastened her rapidity to the grave. But she was ready for the unexpected and awful summons; and had long looked forward, not only without alarm, but with the confidence and hope of a strong faith for the approach of the messenger which was to sever the ties which bound her to the things of life, and reunite her to the beloved partner who had reached the goal of the Christian race but a few shor years before her.

Let the friends who she has left draw consolation from the well grounded hope, that her redemption was consummated by the mournful event that dissolved her connection with scenes of time and opened to her the pure joys of an unclouded and happy eternity.
