Services for Thomas will be held at 5:00 PM Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at First Baptist Church Family Center in Dublin, GA with Dr. Cliff Morris, Rev. Quentin McArthur, Pastor Blake Albritton and Pastor Adam Anderson will be officiating.
The family received friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home, Monday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. There will be a private family interment service later in Enterprise, Alabama. There will also be a memorial celebration for Thomas, 2:00 PM Saturday, February 19, 2011 at the Shorter Avenue Baptist Church.
Thomas lived most of his life in Dublin, moving to Rome recently. He was a student at Armuchee High School where he was on the Soccer Team and ran Cross Country. He was a Star Scout in Troop 56 at New Armuchee Baptist Church and was a member of Shorter Avenue Baptist Church and Youth Group. While in Dublin, Thomas was a member of First Baptist Church, was a former student at Dublin High School where he lettered in Soccer and was an honor student. He was a member of Troop 66 BSA at First Baptist Church, Dublin.
Thomas is survived by his parents, Tom and Lora Goodson of Rome, brothers, Neal Goodson of Louisville, KY, Josh Goodson of Athens, Grandmother, Jeffie Bass Goodson of Enterprise, AL, aunts and uncles, Danny (Linda) Goodson of Enterprise, AL, Mike Andress of Enterprise, AL, Liz (Dennis) Abrams of Wichita, KS, John (Suzy) Hedden of Coralville, IA, Bill (Suzanne) Hedden of Boston, MA and numerous great aunts, uncles and cousins.
Boy Scouts from Troop 66, will serve as pallbearers and Boy Scouts from Pine Forest District will serve as honorary escort.
Thomas was to be part of a Mission Team from First Baptist Church, Dublin, to the International Bible College, Zambia this summer. Memorial contributions to that project in memory of Thomas Allen Goodson, Jr. would be appreciated.
