You can shed tears that I am gone.
Or you can smile because I lived.
You can close your eyes
and pray that I will come back
Or you can open your eyes
and see all that I left.
Your heart can be empty
because you can't see me
Or you can be full
of the love we shared
You can turn your back on tomorrow
and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow
because of yesterday.
You can remember me
and only that I am gone
Or you can cherish my memory
and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what I'd want:
smile, open your eyes,
love and go on.

When I get where I'm going,
on the far side of the sky
The first thing that I'm gonna to do
is spread my wings and fly
I'm going to land beside a lion
and run my fingers through his mane
or I might find out what it's like
to ride a drop of rain
When I get where I'm going
there'll be only happy tears,
I will shed the sins and struggles
I have carried all these years
and I'll leave my heart wide open
I will love and have no fear
When I get where I'm going
don't cry for me down here

"3 years ago today we lost a huge part of our family. My Great Grandpa Burr Jr. was our rock. Every one of us meant the world to him and he meant the world to us.
He was always smiling and when we went to stay with him on Christmas Eve it really made Christmas great. Nothing like getting tootsie rolls EVERY year.
He was a great man, one I wish God didn't need so early, but things can't go as I wish. He worked to take care of my grandma Chris,my aunt Lisa and my great grandma.
When my father asked if I knew where we were going I told him, "well aren't we going to Papa Burr Head's to move some stuff so he can come home?" (That's what we called him) and he told me no. That was the very first time I had ever seen my father cry. We miss you so much Papa Burr Head! You've been greatly missed!

and left by his daughter, Chris

"Thank you for posting about my precious daddy...a.k.a Papa Burr Head...a.k.a. Papa Hard Head...a.k.a. Papa Bird Head...
He was the rock we stood on and thank goodness he taught us how to be our own rock....the last 3 years have been so hard without him but as momma said, when he took his last breath, I know his soul left us here and went to be with our Lord! We shall meet again some day....it will be such a happy occasion with him and mamaw meeting us at the pearly gates of heaven...love you with all my heart!

and granddaughter, Kortnie

"Ok I have tried 3 times to post... And can't because of the tears! I can still remember the last breath he took! My world shattered in an instant. But I know he went to be with Jesus then and I would see him again! I wish I could tell him I love him one more time.... But since I can't I will tell my family! So to all my family I love you all to the moon and back.

(what a legacy this man left behind in the hearts of his beloved family)
