Oarton H. Adams Sr.
Oarton H. Adams Sr., 76, of 54905 Butternut, died Thursday in the home of his stepson, Harry Robinson, of Scott's Bluff, Neb., where he and his wife, Maude Adams, were visiting. He apparently suffered a heart attack. Adams retired from the Oliver Corp. in 1965 after 44 years. Born on March 27, 1900, in Arkansas, he had lived here most of his life. On Jan. 24, 1925, in La Porte, he married Grace R. Doll, who died in 1971. In 1972, he married Maude Robinson, who survives.
Also surviving besides the stepson, are a son, Oarton H. Jr., of Hudson Lake; a daughter, Mrs. Richard French of South Bend; three other stepsons, James and Harvey Pellow, both of South Bend, and Robert Pellow of Indian Lake, Mich.; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and two half-brothers, Francis and Lester Adams, both of Pontiac, Mich. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William.
