Gone Home.

A.J. Fosset, who quietly passed away into death's domain on Wednesday evening, Sept. 12, after a long and painful illness, was born in the state of New York, June 1, 1836. He was therfore, 64 years, 3 months 12 days old at the time of his departure. When twenty-two years of age he married Miss Rachel Fiest, of Oakland, Wis. To this union were born three sons and three daughters all of whom with their excellent mother remain to mourn over their loss. During the Civil war he volunteered first in Co.F., First Reg. Minn. Inf., serving one years. He then enlisted in Co. K First Regiment, Minnesota Cavalry and was honorably discharged in July 1865. He moved to Sumner county in June 1874, and during the ministry of Rev. Hook in the Christian church in this city he became a Christian and to the last hour of his life he manifested his trust in God and his Savior. He longed to leave his painful tabernacle for the house not made with hands eternal in the heavens.

The funeral was conducted in the Christian church, Thursday, September 13, at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Pomeroy the pastor was ably assisted by Rev. J. A. Holmes of the M.E. church in conducting the services. A large number of the citizens followed the body to its resting place in Caldwell's beautiful cemetery.
