Harold Hilts (far left squatting), killed over Kiel, Germany on 13 June 1943 during WW2, was the ball turret gunner on this B-17 named "Klo-Kay", aircraft #42-29715 of the 94th Bomb Group. Note the attached story as told by 410th C.O. Capt. Bolling H. Rawlinson, the only survivor. All other crewmen were killed in action. Capt. Bolling was held captive by the Germans until the end of the war. He was then interviewed by Army Intelligence and told the story as attached. This is the photo Cecil J. Hilts had hanging on his den/office wall for years in Anthony, Kansas.
