On May 23, 1921, the spirit of Mr. P.J. Ray winged its flight to the Mansion of the Eternal Bliss at the home of his daughter, Mrs. R. S. Higginbothan.
He was in his 82nd year, (born October 23, 1841). In 1865 he married Mrs. Bagby, whose maiden name was Miss Susan Rebecca Atkinson. Six children survive him as follows: James and Evan Wray of Texas; Luford Wray, of Union Point; Jut Wray of Atlanta; Mrs SS Perkins of Douglasville; and Mrs. R.S. Higginbotham, of Madison. Eula Lee Wray Smith had died in 1918 in Texas.

Wray became a private in Company K, 8th Regiment, Georgia Volunteer Infantry, Army of Northern Virginia, CSA, Oglethorpe County Georgia, "Oglethorpe Rifles" on July 1, 1862 (about 21 years old) at Maxey's. He joined his brother S. Wray who had joined that company as a private on May 15, 1961. The same year Pleasant joined he was appointed Regimental Musician (1862). (This they Remembered-stated he joined brass band. He was forloughed for 30 days on Sept 30, 1864 and married Mrs. Rebbeca Bagby in Greene county on November 10, 1864.
He was one of the charter members of Centenial Church in 1876. In 1882 he was ordained a deacon; also was supintendent of the Sunday School. Later in life he moved to Rutledge.
