Mrs. Castaneda passed away at Bay Regional Medical Center on August 22, 2011.
Rosemary was the daughter of Blaine and Louise (Ciesulka) Fogelsonger, born in Bay City on July 4, 1922. She graduated from Bay City Central High School in January 1941, and worked in the school office. She later worked five years for the A&P Company in Trenton and Bay City, and 11 years for Mid-Michigan Community Action, retiring at age 80 years.

Rosemary enjoyed traveling around the United States, her favorite destinations being New Mexico and Hawaii. She was talented with needlework and her artistic sense was expressed in crocheted pieces and beautiful quilts. In high school she was a vocal student of H.R. Evans and enjoyed singing.

She was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary #9 of Bay City and served as commander in 1963–64 and 1980–81. She was also a member of the Saginaw River Marine Historical Association.

Rosemary was predeceased by her husband Eugene Castaneda, her parents, and sisters Leonora Wensen and Annett June Turmell. She is survived by three daughters – Marcia Castaneda of Saginaw, Judy (Andrew) Sajdak of Bay City and Lorrie Castaneda of Easton, MD – one son, Ronald Castaneda (Karen Grotowski) of Midland, and brother-in-law Floyd Turmell. She also leaves behind four grandchildren – Andrew (Jennifer) Sajdak II of Saginaw, Jody (Casey) Carpenter of Lapeer, Ashley (Craig) Ressell of Grand Rapids, and Ronald Castaneda II of South Dakota – great grandchildren Nikole Sajdak and Garet and Ashton Carpenter, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Service will take place 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2011 at the Stapish Cederberg Funeral Home West. Rev. Dr. Philip A. Rice will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
