Reverend Marc Jones of Abundant harvest Fellowship in Athens, TX will conduct the services. Karen Broussard, organist and soloist, will sing "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus", "How Great Thou Art" and "I Know My Redeemer Lives" for the services.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Nancy A. Abercrombie; two daughters, Deana I. Hernandez and her husband David and Stephanie A. Benson; three sons, David Abercombie, Billy Abercrombie, Jr. and his wife Judy and Christopher "Shane" Abercrombie and his wife Becky; one stepdaughter, Jackie Rosch and her husband Robert; two stepsons, Josh Taylor and Terry Emberton and his wife Pam; eleven grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; one great grandchild; and one step great grandchild.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, William and Doris Wallace Abercrombie; his first spouse, Diane Abercrombie; and a step son John Phillip Taylor who passed away on August 11, 2006.
A resident of Lafayette, Billy Abercrombie, Sr. was an avid motor home traveler of the United States. He especially enjoyed riding Jeep trails, floating down rivers in boats, cycling and the beautiful , mountainous scenery of Colorado. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Shane Draughon, Zachary Rosch, Pete Johnson, Keith Sellers, Carl Sellers and William "Bill" Hebert.
