BOSHEARS, FRANCES W. — 82, of Helenwood, passed away Thursday, August 15, 1991, at the McCreary County Health Care Center in Pine Knot, Ky., following a four month illness.

Born in Huntsville on January 17, 1909, she was the daughter of the late EWELL S. BOSHEARS and the late SADIE ADKINS BOSHEARS. She was also preceded in death by two sisters: FLORENCE B. WEST and WILDA B. OWENS; three half-sisters: ETTA B. THOMPSON, ELLA B. THOMAS and ETHEL B. THOMAS; two half-brothers: JEROME and SYLVESTER BOSHEARS.

She was a retired school teacher having taught both in Stearns, Ky. and in Tennessee for a total of 38 years.

Survivors include eight nieces: KATHLEEN W. ROBBINS of Helenwood, with whom she had made her home for the past three years; MARY ALICE OWENS BOWMAN of Stearns, Ky.; BERNICE B. HAMRICK of Oak Ridge; BERTIE T. RITCHIE of Oneida; MARY T. KEATON of Knoxville; RUTH T. O’BRIEN of Arizona; FRANCES T. DOBBS of Franklin, Ky.; and JENNY T. SCHIEBER of New York; five nephews: EWELL THOMPSON of Oak Ridge; Frank Thomas of Somerset, Ky.; BILL ED THOMAS of Oneida; BOBBY THOMAS of Cincinnati, Ohio; and CHARLES THOMAS of Oneida; a special great nephew, JACK KEETON of Helenwood, along with several other great nieces and great nephews. Many other relatives survive also.

Funeral services were conducted from the West Murley Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m. on Monday, August 19, with Bro. ROGER CECIL officiating. The Goad Family sang. Burial followed in the Buttram Cemetery in Huntsville. Serving as pallbearers were: CHARLES THOMAS, DON BOWMAN, JACK KEETON, SCOTT THOMPSON, BILL ED THOMAS and BOB THOMPSON. West-Murley Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
