Beverly Charlene Johnston, 78, of Rapid City died Saturday, August 26, 2006 at her home.
Bev was born July 2, 1928 in Rapid City, SD to Thomas James Allison and Ethel (Halliday) Allison. On January 17, 1948 she married Morris E Johnston from Rapid City, SD. They had five children; Mike (Nicola) Johnston of Hot Springs, SD, Thomas (Kathy) Johnston of Rapid City, SD, Colleen (Frank) Langley of Nemo, SD, Cathy (Joe) Lashley of Rapid City, SD and Laura (Bill) Sumners of Rapid City, SD.
Bev is survived by all five children as well as 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, one sister; Beatrice M. Julius of Rapid City, and one brother; Marvin Allison of New Meadows, ID.
Bev loved to watch baseball games, read to her great-grandchildren, bake cookies and play scrabble with her friends. She was a role model to her family and will remain in our hearts forever.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Ethel Allison, her husband Morris Johnston, brother Meirl Allison, brother Thomas Allison, brother Arnette Allison, brother Wesley Allison, sister Clorice Hollis, sister Katherine Shavlik, sister Janith Allison and sister Velma Allison.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church Building Fund.
Graveside services will be at 9 am on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis with Pastor Doug Free officiating.
