He was born July 19,1925, in Hollidaysburg, the son of the late Edan F.(Dewey,Sr.) and Lucy (Helsel) Brawley. He married Joyce Hoover. She preceded him in death.
Mr. Brawley retired from Mel Benson Auto Sales, Duncansville, after 35 years of service. He previously had been employed at PennDOT for 10 years and Pennsylvania Railroad for two years.
He was an was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Brawley enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing card and dominos. He was a member of Duncansville Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars, Duncansville, and Fort Fetter American Legion Post, Hollidaysburg. He also was president of Pines and Ivy Crow Club, Duncansville, Duncansville Owls Club and the Ma Ha Club.
Surviving are seven sisters: L. Joan Snyder of Duncansville, Martha Heaton of Altoona, Kathryn Ott of Hollidaysburg, Virginia Heaton of Buffalo, N.Y., Florence Appleman of Martinsburg and Ella and Glenda, both in Pennsylvania; three brothers: Howard of Bellwood, Donald of Duncansville and Paul of Puzzletown; and his stepmother, Viola Brawley in Pennsylvania. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at The Good Funeral Home Inc., located at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
BRAWLEY—Services for Dewey Elwood Brawley will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park, by Pastor Larry Aldrich. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
