Ivyl Earl Slaybaugh was born the son of Earl and Jennie Tallman Slaybaugh on September 7, 1913 at the family home in Guthrie County, Iowa and died at the Greenville Care Center in Greenville, Missouri on January 29, 2003 at the age of 89 years, 4 months and 22 days.

On March 25, 1937, Ivyl and Lela Schwaderer were united in marriage. This union was blessed with two children, James and Cheryl.

Ivyl leaves the following family to celebrate his life: wife Lela of Piedmont, Missouri; daughter Cheryl Cook of Piedmont, Missouri; brother Ollie Slaybaugh of Stuart, Iowa; brother Vern Slaybaugh of Panora, Iowa; brother Walter Slaybaugh of Guthrie Center, Iowa; sister Nyla Prueitt of Des Moines, Iowa; granddaughter Rhonda Knock; and three great-grandchildren Mandy May Knock, and Nathan and Jamee Slaybaugh.

Ivyl was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Jennie Tallman Slaybaugh; son James Edward Slaybaugh, and one grandchild.

Ivyl was a farmer and a member of the Early Chapel Christian Church of Earlham.
