Death of C. E. Whitenack.
After a terrible struggle of more than a month with the grim reaper, death, C.E. Whitenack was called to his reward on Monday, December 19, aged 56 years, 9 months and 8 days. His remains were taken on Tuesday to Earlham, Iowa, where they were laid to rest in the cemetery at that place, accompanied there by a sorrying wife and son.
Charles Edward Whitenack was born in Sullivan county, Indiana, August 2nd, 1850, and for several years resided in Iowa, going from there to Nebraska, and from that state to Oklahoma, and has resided a part of the time since he has been in Oklahoma, in Carney, where he had a host of friends. Uncle Charley as he was familiarly called, was a man universally liked and respected—quiet and unassuming, a gentleman in all his words and acts. He will be missed by a large circle of friends in and around Carney. Peace to his ashes.
