We know that John was probably married in the 1820 census, because a female his age was living with him, along with one male and one female under age 10 (the young female was likely Sarah if she was truly John Winters' daughter). While it's possible that Nancy Daniels and John Winters cohabited for many years before actually marrying in 1824, it's also possible that Miss Daniels was John's 2nd wife.
