Stacy Bevan was born in Belmont County, Ohio, January 19, 1834. His mother's ancestors came to America with William Penn. When he was 20 years old the family moved to Marshall County, Iowa, where he later married to Miss Sarah Beals.
Together they had 10 children. At the age of 23 he began public ministry. In 1886 he moved to Haviland, Kansas.
