Rutha Mae Biggs, age 98, of Flint, Texas and formerly of Oakwood, died February 4, 2008, in a nursing home in Tyler, Texas under the care of hospice. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery was under the direction of Bailey and Foster Funeral Home, Palestine. She was born April 28, 1909 in Venetia, Leon County, to the late Willis A. and Sally Johnson Sparks. Mrs. Biggs was a member of the First Christian Church of Oakwood. In 1988 she married Alfred M. Biggs of Oakwood who preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Sue Rigsby; grandchildren, Rebecca Foster and husband David, John A. Rigsby and wife Sharon, and William O. Rigsby and wife Janice; five great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
